Bulgarian Orphanages in Silsistra, Bulgaria.

Bernadette Leggett and her husband Douglas are two ordinary people trying to help those people who are less fortunate than us. Over the past four years they have bought a quarter space on a lorry and send lots of goods over to the Orphanages and the Home for the Elderly, the Hospital and the Disability Centre, the poor in the villages and others.  They are now preparing to take their next load over in September this year. They do bag packing and book sales to pay for the transport and this can be around £1200 to £1800  and this can take all year to achieve, but they rely on companies and people to donate good secondhand goods.

They have been lucky on occasions where Next, Tesco and Gap have donated ex stock, however this year they will still be looking for items and are in great need of footwear. They ask if BFA members might help by donating any end of line shoes, trainers, boots for the children from age 2 to 18 years.  Any help you could offer would be fantastic as every pair of shoes counts and will make a huge difference to the children and various other establishments.  For this kind gesture, they will be happy to add your company name as a sponsor to their website below. Please browse the website and read about them, you will also see the various pictures and articles etc.
