Dr. Martens’ Cobb’s Lane factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, is the factory where the very first Dr. Martens boot, the 1460, was made. It survived the factory closures of a decade ago and has continued making boots and shoes as they have always been made in Wollaston; with craftsmanship and quality. Dr Martens recently launched a new apprenticeship scheme, in partnership with South Leicester College. This apprenticeship scheme aims to offer opportunities for young people seeking work in one of the oldest, and yet most dynamic, manufacturing industries. www.drmartens.com
